Welcome to Driving & Chatting, the new youtube sensation where I drive a car and chat about things.
I had this idea the other day to do a video review of my Sonic, because I've wanted to write an article about modifying cars or hot hatches or something along those lines but I suck at writing.
So I got a headstrap for my Go Pro to take video while I speak my thoughts. That video will be filmed this weekend, but to test out the idea I took two quick clips driving around. Let me know what you think: is the audio okay? Camera angles? Quality? Like the idea? Hate the idea? Suggestions for future videos?
If you like it enough, feel free to subscribe to my channel! It's the same one where I post autocross videos, so there's those too.

this reminds me of the Channel that dude in blue..but the head camera isn't the best idea overall. I'd mount it somewhere and show your face so the Camera isn't constantly moving around as it's jarring to watch.

Your audio is fine for me though.

It's a neat idea. One recommendation that I have is basically the same thing that I_AmDeath suggested; mount the camera on the windshield or somewhere where it won't constantly move about.

I dig it. As a newly-fellow-RS-owner I'm interested in your modifications and impressions of the car. :)
1st draft idea:
Maybe have other people drive a stock Sonic, then drive your Sonic for opinions on how the mods have transformed the car? Not as logistically easy as driving around with a camera on your head, but I think it would be an interesting perspective if the focus is going to be on your upgrades.
Audio sounds great, but I agree with others that the head-cam is a little jarring. I think you can mix in those shots for your final cut, but other views (exterior drive-bys?) would be nice as well as more informative.

Thanks. I don't want to fix the camera on the windshield facing forward because then you see nothing. I'm not sure anyone wants to see my face...

We plan on doing exterior shots today. A couple oppos here have driven my Sonic stock, so they can share their opinion of the changes.

That makes sense. I have a crazy idea: mount the camera on the roof.
On a completely unrelated note, I was wondering how one gains the rights to post on OppositeLock . (In other words, who should I contact to see about gaining access?) I have some stuff that I would like to share, but that wouldn't exactly fit on my professional-oriented car blog, AutoKing .)

I shared your reply for a mod to see.
The roof wouldn't really show much, and I'd have to run a mic or separate audio inside. I'll try pointing the camera at me, or mess with my gooseneck mount to come up with a fixed angle

Haha, I meant mount it on roof on the inside of the car. ;)

Headstrap provides a good perspective and while the 1st take was fairly shaky you cleaned it up considerably the 2nd time around. Those things will become less noticeable as other content comes into play through talking about topics and whatever else is to be added.

I like it. A couple things for the future. A passanger to conversate with every now and then. Car spotting! Example (*while driving*... yeah I need to go to the car wash. There is one a couple blocks downoooooh wow look a Dodge Stealth! Sweeet, where those AWD? I knew a dude that had a 3000GT and... etc.) Lastly, have a specific place to go to show off your hood. Talk a little about the town as well and car things that happened in certain areas
